Clash of Civilizations: West VS Islam

In words of Harvard University Professor Samuel P. Huntington explaining the major reason for the clash of two giant civilizations who have locked horns for centuries and are in an open conflict with each other he said,

"The underlying problem for West is not Islamic fundamentalism. It is Islam, A different civilization whose people are convinced of the superiority of their culture and are obsessed with the (current) inferiority of their power.

The Problem for Islam is not CIA or the US department of Defense. It is the West, A different civilization whose people are convinced of their universality of their culture and believe that their superior, If declining, power imposes on them the obligation to impose that culture throughout the world. These are the basic ingredients that fuel conflict between Islam and the West."

This explains the reasons why both these civilizations can’t acknowledge or accept each other. Western ideology is rooted in Darwinian school of thought which is “survival of the fittest” and as they deem themselves most “advance” and most “fittest” it is also their obligation to “educate” and “improve” the world. They believes that not only their culture is superior but also it is universal so it should be adopted by each and everyone.  In order to achieve that goal. They have successfully used “globalization” to promote their culture. The result of that can be easily observed when a man living in the deep deserts of Africa or in the mountains of Mongolia can be found wearing a Nike shirt or Reebok trainers.

Other civilizations have already embraced in totality or to some extent, the western civilization. However the only culture or civilization which is posing a problem and refusing to submit to Western dominion is Islam. The reason why Western civilization is finding difficult to overpower Islam is because Muslims are already convinced of the superiority of Islam and are proud of their Islamic Culture. They deem Islam as not only the best, but only possible solution to the problems with the world.

This is not just a clash of civilizations, it is the clash of Ideals, which doesn't allow Muslims to accept the supremacy of the West or West to back down from their stance of world dominion. World is currently witnessing this War of Supremacy. Only time will tell what the future beholds?
